Course description

This 2-day workshop will teach how to go from raw fleece to a finished product using the FeltLOOM® needle-felting machine as a tool for textile design and creation. You will gain an understanding of the machine operations and techniques for making felted fabric designs. This course will appeal to anyone who has an interest in designing and creating felt based materials and products. Meals, supplies and lodging included.

Participant requirements

This is an introductory level course and no prior knowledge of textiles is necessary.

Course Content

The course covers essential skills including techniques, textures, patterns and layering. It provides an overview of FeltLOOM® needle-felting technology with a demonstration of fabric production. The course will include examples of design approaches and provide guidelines for FeltLOOM® artwork and skills for combining different fibers to transform them into works of art. Participants will apply the skills they learn to create their own original design that will be processed into fabric.
