I will have had my Lexi 1 year in November. I have had varying degrees of success with it. Initially, using some boiled wool fabric on top of regular wool broke a number of needles. I have been disappointed with the fact the Lexi doesn't feed the fabric through the machine very well. I have to basically gently push it through most of the time and if I've just laid various pieces of fabric on top of say wool or flannel, they shift all over the place. to actually get something to turn out reasonably well, I have to sew the pieces together and sew the top piece onto the bottom piece.
I have had reasonable success felting flannel on flannel, although have struggled with the bottom piece of flannel wrinkling or bunching up, I just have to sew everything together to keep it from doing this. I've made several pieces of felted flannel "fabric" that I have made into items that I am relatively pleased with. I do feel like I am still in a really steep learning curve on using the Lexi. I'm registered for the upcoming user's event, and looking forward to it!! I'm hopeful that some of my struggles will simple prove to enable me to get even more out of the event. See you soon.
